ప్రస్తుత విద్యా సంవత్సరంలో ప్రవేశపెట్టిన పదో తరగతి ఇంగ్లీష్ పాఠ్యపుస్తకంలో అనేక మార్పులు చేశారు. గతంలో కంటే భిన్నంగా ఉన్న దీన్ని సులభంగా అర్థం చేసుకొని విద్యార్థులు తాము సొంతంగా రాసుకొనేలా రూపొందించారు. It is a single Text book prescribed as the common reader for both English and Non-English medium students. కొత్తగా ప్రవేశ పెట్టిన ఈ పుస్తకంలో లాంగ్వేజ్ పరంగా ప్రణాళికా స్థాయి అధికమైంది. Gram-mar, vocabulary, project work, study skills, writing, comprehension questions వంటి కోర్సుల స్థాయిని గణనీయంగా పెంచారు. పాత సంప్రదాయ అంశాలు కాకుండా విద్యార్థి తాను నేర్చుకుంటున్నాను అనే భావన కలుగకుండా ఇన్నోవేటివ్ పద్ధతిని సృజనాత్మక అంశాలను జోడించడంతోపాటు అనేక కొత్త అంశాలు చేర్చారు. దీనికి అనుగుణంగా నిరంతర సమగ్ర మూల్యాంకనం (CCE) పద్ధతిలో లాంగ్వేజ్ యాక్టివిటీస్ అంశాలను బాగా నేర్చుకోవాలి. లాంగ్వేజ్ యాక్టివిటీస్‌లో ముఖ్యాంశాలు Vocabulary (పదజాలం) This section contains some vocab-ulary tasks/activities/exercises. You will find matchings questions, finding syno-nyms/antonyms, phrasal verbs, multiple shades of meanings, collocations, hom-onyms, homophones, homographs, idioms, word formation, choosing right words, attributes, articles, binomials, appropriate forms మొదలైన అంశాలను విద్యార్థులు సాధన చేయాలి. Grammar ఇంగ్లీష్ నేర్చుకోవాలంటే ముందు గ్రామర్ వచ్చి ఉండాలి అనే భావన ఉండేది. అయితే ప్రస్తుతం తాము గ్రామర్ నేర్చుకుంటున్నామనే ఆలోచన కలిగేలా కాకుండా, అభ్యాస ప్రక్రియలు నిత్యజీవితానికి పనికి వచ్చే అంశాల్లోనే వ్యాకరణ అంశాలనే చేర్చారు. దీంట్లో భాగంగా Omissions, contrac-tions,linkers, reported speech, tense, punctuation marks, irregular numbers, propositions, passive voice, relative clauses, finding out errors వంటి గ్రామర్ అంశాలను బాగా ప్రాక్టీస్ చేయాలి. You will also find activities that help students identify grammatical errors and edit them. Writing This section contains some written discourses that help students write conversation (సంభాషణలు) descriptions (వివరణలు) narratives, stories (కథలు), Messages (సమాచారం), e-mails, sms, dairy entries, letter, paragraph, essays, biographical sketches (జీవిత విశేషాలు), songs/poems. you will also find some tasks that need group discussions, collations of information from various sources and then writing a piece collaboratively. పాఠ్యపుస్తకంలోని ఎనిమిది యూనిట్లలో ఉన్న writing టాపిక్‌ను ప్రాక్టీస్ చేయాల్సి ఉంటుంది. Study Skills దీనిలో Verbal and non verbal activities like pie charts, bar diagrams, tables, advertisements (ప్రకటనలు), dictionary entries, route maps, data ఇచ్చి దాని ఆధారంగా మరొక అంశాన్ని గురించి రాయడం వంటి ప్రక్రియలను అభ్యసనం ద్వారా నేర్చకోవాలి. ఈ అంశాలు Text bookలో బాక్స్‌ల్లో రంగులద్ది విద్యార్థులకు శ్రద్ధ కలిగేట్లు ఉన్నాయి. Listening This section contains a listening text and a few tasks/activities/exercises to improve speaking and listening compet-encies. You will find out listening comprehension questions and questions that call for the students reflection on what they have listened to. Oral Activity ఈ Taskలో conversations, discussions, debates, compering, presenting reports, speeches వంటి అంశాల ద్వారా విద్యార్థుల్లో మాట్లాడే సామర్థ్ధ్యాన్ని పెంపొందించవచ్చు. దీనికోసం ఉపాధ్యాయులు విద్యార్థులకు ఆయా అంశాలపై చర్చా కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహించాలి. లాంగ్వేజ్ టీచర్స్ క్లబ్స్‌గా ఏర్పడి మాస్‌గా కమ్యూనికేషన్ స్కిల్స్ అభివృద్ధి చెందేలా Oral activity programmes నిర్వహించాలి. Project work లాంగ్వేజ్ ప్రక్రియలో ప్రాజెక్ట్ వర్క్ అత్యంత కీలకమైంది. యూనిట్ మొత్తానికి ఇది ముఖ్యమైన అంశంగా ఉంటుంది. One project related to the theme of the total unit. Analysis and interpr-etation of data to prepare a report and to present their findings before the class. ఇంగ్లీష్‌లోని మొత్తం 8 ప్రాజెక్ట్ అంశాల్లో యూని ట్ థీమ్ ఆధారంగా ఈ పనులు కల్పించారు. social reforms, 50 ఏండ్ల క్రితం జీవితం ఎలా ఉండేది, విభిన్న కుంటుంబాలు-భిన్న పండుగల నిర్వహణ, బాలల హక్కులు-అణచివేత, హాస్యం కల్గించే కథలు, మానవ సంబంధాలు, ఇష్టమైన వ్యక్తుల సమాచారం సేకరించడం వంటి అంశాలపై ప్రాజెక్టు పని ఇచ్చారు. ఇందులో గ్రూపుల వారీగా, వ్యక్తిగతంగా సేకరించే సమాచారం ఉంటుంది. collect చేసిన infor -mationను చార్టులపై ప్రదర్శించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. దీని ఆధారంగా తరగతి రిపోర్టును ప్రతి గ్రూపు నుంచి ప్రజెంట్ చేస్తారు. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు ప్రక్రియ నిర్వహణ ద్వారా విద్యార్థుల్లో సమాజ సమస్యలపై అవగాహన విద్యార్థుల మధ్య సంబంధాలు, సమాజంతో సంబంధాలు, విద్యార్థుల్లో నాయకత్వ లక్షణాలు మొదలైన విషయాల పట్ల అవగాహన కలుగుతుంది. దీనివల్ల L.S.R.W భాష నైపుణ్యాలు అభివృద్ధి చెందుతాయి. అయితే ప్రాజెక్ట్ పని ఇచ్చేముందు విద్యార్థులకు టీచర్ తగిన సూచనలు, సమయం తప్పనిసరిగా ఇవ్వాలి. ప్రాజెక్ట్ నిర్వహణ ఫలితంగా భవిష్యత్తులో ఇంజినీరింగ్ వంటి వృత్తి విద్య, ఉన్నత విద్యలో ఉపయోగడుతుంది. Self Assesment ప్రతి యూనిట్ చివరి అంశంగా ఈ టాపిక్ ఉంటుంది. The check list given at the end of the every unit helps the learners to assess his/her reflect all the sections in a unit. This check list also helps the Teachers to assess the learning levels of children. లాంగ్వేజ్ ప్రక్రియలను భాషా సామర్థ్యాన్ని పెంపొందించేందుకు ఒకటో తరగతి నుంచి పదో తరగతి ఇంగ్లీష్ పాఠ్య పుస్తకాల్లో విద్యార్థుల స్థాయికి అనుగుణంగా పొందుపరిచారు. పరీక్షల విధానం మారడంతో ప్రశ్నలు నేరుగా పాఠ్యపుస్తకంలోని అంశాల నుంచి ఇవ్వరు. ఉపాధ్యాయులు చెప్పిన విషయాలను అవగాహన చేసుకొని తానే సొంతంగా అర్థం చేసుకుంటూ జవాబులు రాయాల్సి ఉంటుంది. The Assessment Language learning is continuous process. Assessment is not an acti-vity distinct from learning. Since learning is facilitated. Through group discussions, pair discussions and individually assessment also operates at the individual level, in peers and groups. This will help the learners to compare their stren-gths and weaknesses and make modifications in their learning. We propose continuos and comprehe-nsive assessment at all levels of language learning. Types of Assessment There are two types of asses-sment. 1. Formative Assessment 2. Summative Assessment Formative assessment is done based on four tools that cover all the language competences (acade-mic standards). These are.. 1. Observation 2. Written work 3. Project work 4. Slip test Teachers has to assess the perfo-rmance of the learners for each term. This is not a single day activity. It is commutative account of what has happened in day-to-day class room transaction. Summative Assessment There will be a summative asse-ssment after every term The test is for 100 marks. Out of these 20% of marks are allotted to oral test and 80 % marks for written test. As CCE is a school based asses-sment, every school should prep- are their own question papers for summative assessment. Three summative tests are must be cond-ucted in each academic year for classes 9th and 10th. In case of 10th class public Examination will be in place of third S.A. test to be conducted by the Board of Seco-ndary Education. S.A.-1, S.A-2 tests shall be conducted by schools itself throu-gh preparing question papers for 80 % of marks. The remaining 20 % of marks shall be awarded on the basis of the Formative Assessment. Grading The marks based grading for class 9th and 10th with following range is given here under.
